Spring Quarter Workshops and Events

All programs and services are open and FREE to all registered undergraduate and graduate UCLA students. All workshops are held in Room B44 in the Student Activities Center unless otherwise noted. Earn two Certificates

The Center offers 2 separate training certificates. Workshops for these certificates may be completed over more than one quarter. Please be sure to sign in for certificate eligibility.

Certificate in Communication Training : To earn this certificate, make sure to attend one of the “Saying What’s on Your Mind” workshops and 2 additional workshops from the “Communication, Relationships & Dating Series” or the “Women & Men at Work.” You need a total of 3 workshops to be awarded the certificate.

Certificate in Conflict Resolution & Negotiation: To earn this certificate, complete any 3 workshops from the Conflict Resolution & Negotiation Series.

THE FOCUS FACTOR: The Male/Female Brain
Your ability to focus has a huge impact on how well you do on exams, papers and in other competitive arenas. It also affects how relaxed you feel and how much you enjoy life. Focusing skills are learned, and there are differences in the ways in which men and women focus. The workshops in this series will help you achieve a focusing edge in classes and make it easier for you to relax and accomplish more in less time. Drop in for any or all workshops.

Childcare Informational Workshops
Are you looking for information on child care? Get information on either on-campus or off-campus child care resources. Facilitated by Child Care Outreach Coordinators. Parents’ Network
Jobs and family responsibilities may make scheduling time for campus involvement more difficult for students who are parents. SELF-DEFENSE TRAINING FOR WOMEN

Attend one 4 hour training to learn the basics of self-defense. These trainings are taught by certified instructors from the nationally recognized organization Peace Over Violence. Space is limited. Co-sponsored with the UCLA Police Department. Please sign-up in advance at The Center for one of the following workshops. Saturdays:

    DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: ADVISEMENT

    Do you have a question or concern about any issue connected with intimate partner violence? The Center is partnering with the highly regarded, LA based, non-profit organization called Break the Cycle, to offer free legal advisement for any domestic violence issue. If you need help or information, call Break the Cycle at 888-988-8336 to talk with a Break the Cycle attorney who can schedule a time to meet with you at the Center. This service is confidential and free. Co-sponsored with UCLA Student Legal Services.
