Mission
The Center for Women & Men is dedicated to providing services:
  • To identify and respond to the needs of women and men through educational programming which promotes awareness of gender-related issues and provides options for personal growth.
  • To serve as facilitators, consultants, and resource persons for groups or individuals within the campus community who are interested in gender-related issues.
  • To increase campus awareness of and generate information on the current and changing status of women.
  • To provide assistance and support for women and men to promote personal and academic growth, and to improve their status in the academic community.
  • To help students identify and utilize existing campus and community services and resources on gender-related issues.
Background
The Center for Women & Men was founded in 1972 to serve the needs of women and men with special focus on gender-related issues. The broad range of programs and services provided by The Center for Women & Men are designed to increase access and retention of students by promoting gender equity, opportunity and advocacy and by addressing issues affecting campus climate.

The Center presents workshops, support groups and referrals on many topics, including medical and legal concerns, child care, self defense, assertiveness training, sexual assault prevention and education, career development, single parenting, health, returning to school and personal relationships. It also provides crisis counseling on sexual assault and sexual harassment matters.
